If you read the newspaper or watched TV in the last few weeks of 2009, you would have see all sorts of lists outlining the ‘best of 2009’ or the ‘best of the noughties’ on everything from film to music to politics and current affairs.
Never ones to pass up a fad at the Global Poverty Project, in the coming weeks we’ll be posting a series of blogs on the last decade looking at extreme poverty.
To give you a sneak preview, there’s less poverty, more hunger, fewer kids dying and more kids being born. There’s less disease, more literacy, fewer conflicts and more mobile phones.
Lots has changed – but overall, there’s one question we’re thinking about - has the world gotten better or worse in dealing with extreme poverty in the last decade?
